Inside the Mind of an AI Policy Architect: A Conversation with Maxwell Scott

Artificial intelligence is transforming how governments, industries and societies operate, but who is actually shaping the rules? In this interview, Radio Monash speaks with Maxwell Scott, Co-Founder and CTO of StratAlliance Global and former Senior Program Manager at Microsoft’s Office of Responsible AI, about the rapidly evolving landscape of global AI policy.

With a career spanning the U.S. Department of State, UNESCO and the G20, Scott offers rare insights into the geopolitical, ethical and cultural dimensions of AI governance across the Indo-Pacific. From national security to education and daily life, he unpacks what “responsible AI” really means and why policy must keep pace with innovation. This interview was recorded as part of Maxwell Scott’s Australian speaking tour, supported by the U.S. Consulate in Melbourne.
